Jason Godwin

Jason B. Godwin is a founding partner in the firm of Busch, Slipakoff & Schuh, LLP and is a senior member of the firm’s litigation team. Mr. Godwin is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Washington D.C. Bar Association. Mr. Godwin has experience in trying cases both in state and federal courts.

Mr. Godwin obtained an undergraduate degree in International Affairs from the Georgia Institute of Technology. During his undergraduate education, Mr. Godwin was a letterman on the Georgia Tech football team. Mr. Godwin also obtained a Master’s degree from Georgia Tech in Public Policy. While obtaining his Master’s degree and for several years thereafter, Mr. Godwin served on the football staff.

Mr. Godwin then attended the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University where he was in the top 15% of his first year class. Mr. Godwin then transferred to the Georgia State University School of Law where he ultimately obtained his Juris Doctor degree. Immediately after graduating from Georgia State Law School, Mr. Godwin became the fifth member of the newly formed Busch & Slipakoff firm.

During his litigation career at Busch & Slipakoff (later known as Taylor, Busch, Slipakoff & Duma) Mr. Godwin represented his clients in the Magistrate, State and Superior Courts of the counties surrounding metro Atlanta and participated in litigation then pending in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. Mr. Godwin participated in multiple arbitration, mediations, bench trials and jury trials during his time at this firm, many in conjunction with Bryan Busch.

In the late summer of 2008, Mr. Godwin along with Bryan Busch, Adam Slipakoff, Shane Stogner, and Matthew Schuh founded the firm of Busch, Slipakoff & Schuh, LLP in order to give their clients better personal service at an affordable rate. The new Busch, Slipakoff & Schuh, LLP firm allows Mr. Godwin and the rest of the litigation team, to respond to the client’s litigation needs quickly, while at a very high level of proficiency and skill.

Mr. Godwin has successfully represented clients in seven (7) jury trials. He has also helped many through both voluntary mediations and binding arbitrations. Mr. Godwin has vast experience in representing both plaintiffs and defendants in many different areas of litigation, including, but not limited to, securities fraud, general civil and corporate litigation, tort claims, lender and foreclosure related litigation, wrongful death, contracts, estate litigation and landlord/tenant disputes.
