Matthew Norton

Matthew Norton’s practice focuses on real estate related matters and secured transactions whether those transactions are collateralized by real estate or other property. A veteran of the Atlanta office of Powell Goldstein LLP, Mr. Norton’s past representations include a wide variety of businesses, non-profit and governmental organizations including banks, large and small real estate developers, day care facilities, real estate brokerages, self storage facilities, senior living facilities, hotels, extended stay hotels, student housing facilities, apartments, non-profit hospitals, condominiums, office condominiums, traditional office facilities, mixed-use developments, urban transit agencies, timber companies, private investors, municipalities and the State of Georgia.

Mr. Norton currently serves as General Counsel to Harvest Holdings LLC, a real estate company founded by a former partner in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, focused on quality, sustainable development for the medium and long term. Harvest’s current and recent developments include a $13.5 million tax-exempt bond financing (second of its kind in Georgia) to facilitate a $100 million, 34 acre, LEED certified, mixed hotel, office and retail development, a city annexation allowing a $40 million, 12 acre, mixed hotel, retail and senior living (memory care, assisted living and independent living) complex to go forward, as well as three multi-lot single family subdivisions.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Norton served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing in Southern China for Riviera Products, Inc., a North Carolina-based large-scale furniture import company.
