Georgia Repeals 1973 Securities Act and Adopts New Securities Legislation

In its 2007-08 legislative session, the Georgia General Assembly repealed the Georgia Securities Act of 1973 and replaced it with the Model Uniform Securities Act created by the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws (NCCUSL) in 2002. The new Uniform Securities Act goes into effect on July 1, 2009, making Georgia the 15th state to adopt the Model Act.
